Breakfast this morning. We’ve all seen the green smoothie. No need to post another amazing shot of green stuff inside a glass. Except for when there is something pretty to showcase nearby. Maybe a NEW glass or something. Sometimes the shot is just not there or can’t possibly truly demonstrate what goodness is inside that clear vessel. Here’s what was in mine this morning

Lime

Spinach

Peach

Pineapple

Mango

Vegan Protein

Plus I ate almonds for the additional F.A.T. (Full Abundant Trusting)

The goal is to increase iron, protein, and fat intake right now. Why? I am nearing the menstruation phase of my cycle and my body is currently need of the trifecta above. During menstruation the body will need protein and fat to keep the blood sugar steady. And iron and zinc to help remineralize the body.

Eating to keep your body balanced can be a normal thing. Many women are leaning into this information and seeing huge changes in the way they cope… thrive during each phase of their cycle. However, there are still many women struggle to maintain consistency with their health goals during this time because there has been a lack of information provided. When I was growing up, having your period was not really talked about other than with your closest friends. These friends probably were not specialists on the inner workings of the body and what was really going on, especially not of what should be going into the body to support this system. We don’t live there anymore. An abundance of information surrounds us and we can take control of what we put in our mouths. At any moment. It is all a choice.

I have been using period tracking app for over 5 years. However, last year was introduced to “In the Flo”, written by Alisa Vitti. If your periods are frustrating, confusing or painful, you can find out the cause. Leaning into what the body is telling and truly responding in kind can bring amazing benefits. I know that while I am menstruating, the protein and fat intake has helped curve the general desire for baked goods during this time. I do allow myself these indulgences, because we are capable of enjoying without being overtaken. Yes WE are.
